»In front of success the immortal gods have put sweat!«

That is how an old piece of wisdom puts it. And it hardly applies anywhere more than to competition between instrumental soloists, and particularly between pianists.

The INTERNATIONAL GERMAN PIANO AWARD offers a great and exemplary path in the search for top performances worldwide. Admittedly, the demands made of the participants when taking this path are infinite. But it also gives a great deal back: valuable successes in the form of concert engagements, CD recordings and much more. But the invitation to Frankfurt alone provides important and indispensable experiences on the way up the artistic ladder.

A considerable number of pianists have applied in five years, and the quality of those chosen has equally delighted the public and the experts again every year.

These young pianists submit themselves to a partly hard and uncompromising competition, which contrasts starkly with the beauty and brilliance of their musical talent.

Thus, the INTERNATIONAL GERMAN PIANO AWARD performs a limitless service to top young German and international pianists, who continue to enjoy an excellent education at our music academies in Germany. As the patron, I would like to thank the initiators, Dr Nader and Maryam Maleki, most sincerely for this initiative to promote excellence, and the International Piano Forum and all sponsors and supporters of this competition. I would like to express my great respect and esteem to everyone taking part.
