Festival International German Piano Award
The Festival International German Piano Award – Concert Series and Official Opening Concert Musikmesse 2016 presents altogether seven pianist that were nominated for or have been awarded at the International German Piano Award.
On 01 and 02 April 2016 four pianists will perform solo recitals in the Hochschule für Musik Frankfurt: Ah Ruem Ahn, Lukas Geniušas, Ching-Yun Hu und Yekwon Sunwoo. On 03 April Dmitri Levkovich there will perform a solo recital. On 06 April 2016 the pianists Joseph Moog and Andrejs Osokins will perform together with Kremerata Baltica under the baton of Boian Videnoff in Alte Oper Frankfurt.
These concerts underline the importance and necessity of an initiative such as the International German Piano Award for the support of classical piano music for Germany and in the international competition. They are exemplary for the excellence of all pianists involved. These fresh and young pianists already perform on the world’s greatest stages and are looking forward to their return to Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

International German Piano Award 2016
The International Piano Forum awards the German Piano Award 2016 as the highest endowed award as part of the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Hochschulwettbewerb organized by Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz and German Universities of Music—in Berlin for the best interpretation of Johann Sebastian Bach – Johannes Brahms: Chaconne in D minor (arrangement for the left hand, studies for piano No. 5)
The International German Piano Award will pause in 2016 in favor of the German Piano Award. Applications for the International German Piano 2017 can be submitted from 02 May 2016 until 01 December 2016. Please find here more Information.
